It is recommended to have a business line for the best experience. However, if you do not have a business line, you can purchase a Direct Inbound Dial (DID) number through Symbo. If you have an extension instead of a direct line, please reach out to the Symbo team at [email protected].
Click on your initials in the top right corner of Symbo and select "My Settings". In the settings menu on the left, select "Phone" under "Connections".

The Phone page has two sections: My numbers — the numbers you can call from, including any Symbo number you purchase with "Get a number" — and Authenticated numbers — your own phones that you've verified with Symbo.

Under "Authenticated numbers", click Connect your phone (it says Connect another phone if you already have one connected).
In the "Authenticate your number" dialog, enter your phone number and click Call to verify. Symbo will call you, and one of two things will happen:
The dialog shows a verification code — answer the call and enter that code on your phone's keypad when prompted.
The call reads you a verification code — type it into the dialog and click Verify code.

Once verified, your number appears in both sections: under "Authenticated numbers" as a connected phone, and under "My numbers" as "Your number" — so you can use it as your outbound caller ID when making calls from Symbo. Your "Dialing preferences" (like Ring in App and Local Presence Dialer) also appear at the top of the page once you have a number connected.

To have inbound calls ring on your real phone, click the pencil icon on your authenticated number and turn on Forward inbound calls to this number, then click Save. The "Call forwarding" column will show "Enabled".
In the same dialog you can also turn on Show true caller ID: when enabled, forwarded calls show the prospect's actual number; when disabled, your Symbo number is shown instead so you can save it as a contact and know the call is coming through Symbo.

Connecting your phone to Symbo is a straightforward process that enables you to leverage local presence and other features of the platform. Need help? Reach out to us at [email protected] or start a chat with us from the help widget in Symbo.
