In order to purchase an Italy number you will need to provide the following:

Local Numbers in Italy

Customer Types

Italy requires you to specify your customer type when ordering numbers:

natural_person — Persona Fisica

An individual using the number for personal, non-commercial use.

• No VAT number required

• No business registration

legal_entity — Persona Giuridica

A public or private legally registered organization.
Examples: SpA, SRL, Ltd, Inc, foundations, municipalities, universities

• VAT number required

• Must provide company registration

sole_proprietorship — Ditta Individuale

A business owned/operated by a single individual.
Examples: freelancers, artisans, consultants

• VAT number required

• Owner name often matches business name

Local Numbers — Identity Requirements

Personal identity verification (Natural Person & Sole Proprietorship):

• Name, last name

• Date of birth

• Place of birth

• Personal tax code (Codice Fiscale) — required for natural persons & sole proprietorships

• Local copy of ID or passport (front & back)

• Identity document type, issuer, number

• Identity document expiration date (YYYY-MM-DD)

• Address in Italy (street, building number, postal code, city, country)

• Proof of address (dated within 3 months)

Business identity verification (Legal Entity & Sole Proprietorship):

• Name, last name of an authorized representative

• Authorized representative date & place of birth

• ID/passport copy (front & back)

• Identity document type, issuer, number

• Identity document expiration date (YYYY-MM-DD)

• Local company registration certificate

• VAT number

• Supplemental address of the legal representative’s residence in Italy (Legal Entity only)

• Address in Italy (street, building number, postal code, city, and country)

• Proof of address (dated within 3 months)

Additional Requirements for Local Numbers

• End-users must be physically present in Italy when purchasing numbers.

• All documents must be submitted in .pdf format.

• Regulators may request additional validation details during review.

Toll-Free Numbers in Italy

Personal identity verification:

• Name, last name

• Contact phone number

• Personal tax ID

• Passport or ID copy (front & back)

Business identity verification:

• Name, last name of authorized representative

• Company name

Additional Requirements for Toll-Free Numbers
