To track incoming and outgoing SMS messages in Salesforce, follow these steps to configure the Task object:
Log into your Salesforce account.
Click the gear icon in the top-right corner.
Select Setup from the dropdown.
In the Quick Find box on the left, type Object Manager.
Click on Object Manager from the results.
Scroll down and find the Task object.
Click on Task to open its configuration.
From the left-hand menu, select Fields & Relationships.
Scroll down and click on the Type field.
Under Task Type Picklist Values, click New.
Add the following values (each on a new line):
Incoming SMS
Outgoing SMS
Click Save.
After saving, click on Set Field-Level Security.
Enable visibility by toggling the Visible checkbox.
Click Save.
Log in to your Symbo account.
Navigate to Org Settings.
Select Phone Settings from the sidebar.
Locate the toggle labeled SMS Logging to Salesforce.
Switch the toggle ON to enable automatic logging of SMS messages as Salesforce Tasks.
Once these steps are completed, your Salesforce environment will be ready to track SMS communication. You can now successfully log and view SMS interactions both inbound and outbound via Salesforce using Symbo.
